She may even be a Tiger Woods or Michael Jordon of the political world.  Time will tell.

I don't want to be part of the crowd that is raising expectation out of all proportion. (Surely Dick Morris, Hannity, etc. are doing that job well enough) After all, it has only been seven days in the national spotlight for our new favorite hockey mom.

This post is to point out one risk of "playing with an all-star".  Sarah is "on our team" so I think the analogy holds for the purposes of this post.  The risk is that we, as her teammates, will become spectators.  She is so good, that we might be tempted to watch her "do her thing".  When Wayne Gretzky retired some of his former teammates said that they used to find themselves so in awe of Gretzky's talents that they unwittingly became spectators.  In doing so, they hurt the effectiveness of the team.

We can't afford to do that.

Instead we need to be like Michael Jordon's Chicago Bulls teammates. They knew Michael was the star but they also knew that they had to play their roles in order to win, and they did. And, that is why the Bulls won 6 NBA Championships.

We all have a role to play and it's critical that we play our part.
